Votes at a glance: Benton County approves routine resolutions, budget transfers and appointments

At its Nov. 18, 2019 meeting, the Benton County Commission approved a series of routine resolutions and budget actions, including appointments, transfers and appropriations.
The commission appointed Cristy Baldwin and Chris Piersol to the Benton County Parks & Recreation Board for three-year terms (Resolution 20191118-01) and reappointed Phil Melton and Rex Wynn to the Agriculture Extension Committee for two-year terms (Resolution 20191118-02). A motion to approve both appointments carried on a voice vote.
Budget actions approved included a $2,500 transfer to cover IT expenses (Resolution 20191118-03), budgeting $467.25 within the Sheriff's Department budget (Resolution 20191118-04, later amended to $150 where noted in the minutes), and appropriations of $25,001.06 and $65,000 within the schools budget (Resolutions 20191118-05 and 20191118-06). Commissioners also approved a $110,000 appropriation from the Unassigned Fund Balance in the Schools Fund (Resolution 20191118-07), a $660 transfer from the County Clerk Reserve Account (20191118-08), and a combined transfer/appropriation totaling $37,784.85 within Fund 171 to purchase sheriff patrol cars from the prior fiscal year (Resolution 20191118-09).
Where recorded in the minutes, most votes were unanimous: several items passed "on a voice vote, all present voted Aye," and some passed on roll call with all present recorded as Aye. The commission approved November 2019 notaries on a voice vote.
The minutes also note motions to dispose of unlisted chairs and wood from the Sheriff's Department (approved) and a request to draft a resolution for placing the bond issue on the March ballot during a special called session prior to Dec. 3.
The meeting adjourned after routine business.
