Resident Robert Carlson provided the commission with a letter about forever chemicals (PFAS) and asked for an update on a solar project by Energix.
Chase Collins, the county attorney, told the commission that Energix "has a signed agreement to continue the project" and that Carlson's letter did not require reapproval by the Board of Supervisors unless the project extends beyond the agreement's term, at which point renegotiation would be necessary. Collins and Director of County Engineering Kenneth Dunford described safeguards in place at the county landfill and the PSA (public service authority). Chairperson Ann Robinson requested that Carlson's letter and an email mentioned in it be included in the meeting minutes and forwarded to the Board of Supervisors.
Engineering staff noted they had not received a copy of Carlson's email and asked Mr. Carlson to forward it so staff could include it in the official record. The commission did not take a formal vote on the substance of the letter; the minutes record the request to include the materials in the record and to forward the matter to the Board.
