Bland County supervisors end local burn ban, approve public-hearing advertisement for Seddon polling place

Bland County supervisors voted unanimously Dec. 19 to end a local burn ban and to advertise a public hearing on a proposed polling-place change in Seddon.
Chairman Stephen Kelley called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and the board adopted a resolution ending the local state of emergency and burn ban effective Dec. 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. The motion to adopt the resolution was made by Supervisor Keith Costello and seconded by Supervisor Randy Johnson; the motion passed unanimously.
The board also voted to authorize the County Administrator to advertise for a public hearing on a proposed change to the Seddon polling location. The motion to advertise was made by Supervisor Randy Johnson and seconded by Supervisor Patrick Groseclose and carried unanimously.
The actions were routine, and no public comment on either item was recorded. The board did not announce a date for the Seddon public hearing during the recorded action; the County Administrator is responsible for scheduling and advertising that hearing under the board’s motion.
