The Tazewell County Community Policy and Management Team unanimously approved funding for foster care, child protective services and related cases during a closed session at its Jan. 24, 2022 meeting, officials said.
The funding motion was made by Patti Cettin of TASK and seconded by Robin Boyd of Clinch Valley Community Action. The closed session had been convened earlier on a motion from Cettin that was seconded by Robin Jackson. The CPMT subsequently certified the closed meeting under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, citing Code of Virginia §§2.2‑3711 and 2.2‑3712; the certification vote was recorded as AYES 8, NAYS 0, with three members listed as absent during the meeting and vote.
The minutes state the closed session covered cases involving Foster Care, CPS, Cumberland, Court Services and Tazewell County Schools and funding to be provided for services; the public minutes do not disclose further case details.
