Board gives final acceptance to countywide radio communications system after exceeding coverage guarantees

The Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved final acceptance of a countywide radio communications system on Feb. 8, enabling implementation of the system warranty.
Cheryl Giggetts of CTA consultants presented the final project budget at $5,536,776 and disclosed negotiated site lease costs totaling $357,099.15. She reported that testing exceeded the original coverage guarantee (originally 93% portable on-street and light building) with results of 99.46% portable on the street and 98.9% portable light building. Board members said they were pleased with the improved coverage for emergency services and moved to accept final operational functionality.
The unanimous vote authorizes the county to finalize remaining items and activate warranty provisions in the project contract.
