Lunenburg supervisors to hold joint public hearing on Dominion Energy Unity Substation conditional use permit; interim planning staff named

County Administrator Tracy M. Gee asked the Board to hold the joint hearing in June; the Board expressed consent to advertise the hearing. No details about the permit application were discussed at the meeting; the agenda item was limited to scheduling the joint hearing.
Administrator Gee also reported that Planning/Zoning Administrator Taylor King will be out on extended medical leave. By unanimous vote the Board appointed Beverley Hawthorne as Interim Planning Commission Clerk and Building Official James Tuck as Interim Deputy Zoning Administrator; Gee said Mr. Tuck will assist King with zoning requests during her absence.
The Board did not take a position on the permit at the May 9 meeting and directed advertising of the hearing so the Planning Commission and public may consider the request at the scheduled joint meeting.
