LEPC approves agenda and minutes; hears HMEP grant and reimbursement updates

The Chippewa County Local Emergency Planning Committee on Oct. 22 approved its meeting agenda and the July 22, 2025 meeting minutes by unanimous vote. Steve Carey moved to approve the agenda with Ed Miller supporting; Ed Miller moved to approve the July minutes with Dan Rosenbohm supporting. Both motions were recorded as carried unanimously.
Greg Postma reported the county board has approved the 2024–25 HMEP grant; planning for grant activities will begin in November. Postma also advised that a reimbursement request for plan preparation under HMEP was submitted and approved by the state for $830. He reported a U.S. Coast Guard trailer site visit was completed, but storage location and transfer processes are delayed by the federal government shutdown.
The committee reviewed informational items and did not adopt additional formal actions at the meeting. The next committee meeting is scheduled for Jan. 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
