The committee approved year-end budget amendments, recommended payment of November claims totaling $8,939,734.36 and approved the FY2026 General and Special Funds budgets with noted contracts, equipment and pay-scale changes.
The Chippewa County Finance, Claims and Accounts Committee reviewed year-end budget amendments and recommended approval of November county bills and payroll at its Dec. 16 meeting.
The committee recommended approval of general claims of $915,196.10; other fund claims of $7,033,312.80; payroll of $885,089.17; and Health Department claims of $106,136.29 — a total of $8,939,734.36. The motion to recommend payment of the November claims and to approve year-end budget amendments carried; Commissioner Damon Lieurance recorded an abstention on the claims vote due to an accounts‑payable conflict.
Committee members were also presented with the proposed FY2026 budget overview, including contract acknowledgments (MSUE 4‑H agent, Probate–Family Court legal contracts, JAVS maintenance, Colligo GIS, RAVE emergency notifications and others), software and equipment requests, non‑union pay scale changes and an increased cremation permit fee. The committee approved the FY2026 General and Special Funds budgets as presented and acknowledged the listed contracts and equipment requests. The FY2026 Budget Resolution will be presented to the full Board for final approval.
Why it matters: The vote authorizes large, recurring financial commitments and confirms personnel and contract decisions that will affect operations next fiscal year.
Next steps: The Finance Committee's recommendation will be forwarded to the full Board for final adoption of the FY2026 Budget and associated contract approvals.
