The Finance, Claims and Accounts Committee on May 13 approved several facilities and service contracting items.
Building & Grounds recommended a $15,425.04 quote from Wolverine Power Systems to replace the county building generator’s radiator; the committee approved the expenditure on a motion by Commissioner Damon Lieurance, supported by Commissioner Jim Traynor. The quote notes some generator parts are becoming obsolete and that rebuilding may be required if replacement parts become unavailable.
The committee also authorized release of a request for proposals for veterinary services for the animal shelter, covering weekly shelter visits, sterilization and general consultation; Commissioner Jim Traynor moved authorization, supported by Commissioner Jim Martin.
Separately, the committee approved a Medical Examiner Services agreement with Kyle Raycraft, M.D., to provide backup medical examiner services at $125 per decedent plus travel-related costs including mileage at the IRS rate. Commissioner Justin Knepper moved approval, supported by Commissioner Damon Lieurance; voice vote carried.
Minutes do not list contract durations, procurement timelines for the RFP, or specific generator warranty terms; those details will be handled in subsequent procurement and contract files.
