Ken Talsma of Anderson, Tackman & Company presented Chippewa County's draft financial statements for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2024, and told the committee the auditor's report "is classified as an unmodified opinion, a clean audit" with no findings.
The Finance, Claims and Accounts Committee moved to approve the draft audit as presented while withholding publication and broader release until Administration gives final sign-off. Commissioner Damon Lieurance made the motion; Commissioner Justin Knepper supported it. The motion carried on a voice vote.
The committee reviewed graphs and standard government-auditing statements included in the draft. No corrective findings or management letters were reported during this meeting.
Next steps: the committee's approval forwards the draft to County Administration for final review and then, if released, to the full board for any formal acceptance or distribution required by county practice.
