The Chippewa County Finance, Claims and Accounts Committee voted July 15 to authorize redirecting unitrust funds from a 1995 Jean C. Boult donation to provide private duty and personal care services for veterans in Chippewa County. The Health Department presented the request and said counsel and the agency’s auditors concluded the change would align with the donor’s original intent.
Commissioner Jim Traynor moved to approve the redirection and Commissioner Damon Lieurance supported the motion; the committee approved the measure by voice vote. The action allows the county to use the Jean C. Boult Fund to assist veterans who require private-duty services and/or personal-care services that are not otherwise covered.
