Commissioners authorized payments to Wolverine Power Systems covering a rental spare unit (estimated $2,760), repair work totaling $5,493 and a replacement radiator priced at $14,920.55 after a generator failed its weekly start check. The committee approved the expenditures on a voice vote.
The committee also approved renewing the Rave emergency notification system for one year at $4,280. That renewal will continue the county’s ability to send community emergency messages via cell phones, TV and zone‑specific landlines. Commissioners authorized up to $7,200 for a seven‑person EMT instructor course to be provided by Office of Emergency Services Management for local EMS and fire agencies.
Separately, the committee set the wage for a new part‑time Federal Inmate Liaison Officer in the jail at $16.45 (Step 7 on the county’s part‑time pay scale). The liaison position will help Jail Administration process federal inmates.
