Chippewa County health department to adopt county EIN, new logo; kindergarten dental and school med policies approved

At its Feb. 11 meeting, the Chippewa County Finance Committee approved the Health Department’s switch to the county EIN effective Oct. 1, 2025, adopted a new department logo and two policies covering kindergarten oral screenings and SHACC over‑the‑counter medication administration; committee approved on voice votes.
The Chippewa County Finance, Claims and Accounts Committee on Feb. 11 approved several Health Department administrative changes, including moving the department’s Employer Identification Number to the county’s EIN effective Oct. 1, 2025, and adopting a new department logo.
Health Officer Karen Senkus told the committee the department will launch the RxKids program in Chippewa County with funding from outside partners and that a virtual press release is planned for Feb. 14. Senkus said the program’s startup required no County dollars and that the Health Department will notify agencies, local doctors and providers about enrollment and referrals.
The committee also approved two written policies. Clinical Policy 4.01.007 establishes kindergarten oral health assessments performed by dental providers to conform with state guidelines; the department has been providing related services for two years, the minutes say. Administrative Policy 7.01.053 permits SHACC (school health) clerks to administer specified over‑the‑counter medications to students under the new procedural rules.
All items were approved on voice votes after motions were moved and seconded by county commissioners. The committee did not record individual vote tallies. The Health Department’s EIN change is scheduled to take effect Oct. 1, 2025.
