SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — The Chippewa County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 13 adopted two resolutions recognizing long-serving county employees retiring after decades of service.
Resolution 2025-01 honored John Treml for 23 years of service to the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation, citing his role as Test Track Manager and contributions to improvements at the test track. The resolution was moved by Commissioner James Traynor, supported by Commissioner Justin Knepper and adopted by roll-call vote with all five commissioners voting aye.
Resolution 2025-02 honored Brian Decker for 32 years with the Chippewa County Road Commission, noting his service as Office Manager/Finance Director and his role in financial oversight and project planning. The resolution was moved by Commissioner Scott Shackleton, supported by Commissioner Traynor and adopted by unanimous roll-call vote.
Both resolutions convey the board’s appreciation and contain customary tributes to the employees’ years of service and dedication. The board’s actions were recorded in the official minutes and will be entered into county records.
