Chippewa County board appoints economic development member, adopts Police Week and telecommunicators proclamation

At its April 17 meeting the Chippewa County Board of Commissioners appointed Timothy Ellis to the county economic development board, named John Sawruk to the Building Code of Appeals, and unanimously adopted proclamations for Police Week and Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
The Chippewa County Board of Commissioners at a regular session on April 17 appointed Timothy Ellis to the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation board and approved a set of proclamations honoring law-enforcement and dispatch personnel.
In a roll-call vote commissioners Justin Knepper, Damon Lieurance, Scott Shackleton, James Traynor and Chairman Jim Martin all voted to appoint Timothy Ellis to the economic development board seat expiring March 31, 2026. John Sawruk was placed on the Building Code of Appeals by unanimous consent to a term ending Dec. 31, 2026.
The board adopted Resolution 2025-04 declaring May 11–17, 2025 as Police Week in Chippewa County and Resolution 2025-05 declaring April 13–19, 2025 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Both proclamations passed by roll-call vote with no opposing votes.
The items were taken under the board’s New Business and approved by voice or roll-call as recorded in the meeting minutes. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jim Martin and adjourned at 5:38 p.m.
