Committee endorses opening HMO-500 to all staff with HSA seed money; parks ordinance edits approved

Chairman John Kozlowski presented a poll vote Oct. 14 to open the HMO-500 plan as an option to all county staff for fiscal year 2026 and for the county to absorb the premium increases. The poll vote passed with all commissioners except Kozlowski voting aye.
The minutes record HSA seed money to be offered as follows: family $2,000; double $1,500; single $1,000. The county will match contributions up to: family $3,000; double $2,000; single $1,000. The minutes note payment timing for seed money — employees employed on or before June 30, 2025 will receive a lump sum in January 2026; those employed after that date will be prorated monthly beginning in January 2026.
Separately, Commissioner Lucille Bray presented an updated Parks Ordinance and the committee voted to approve the ordinance with instructions that Bray correct grammatical errors before finalization.
