Alpena County committee adopts agenda and receives routine monthly reports

The Alpena County Courts & Public Safety Committee began its Dec. 15 meeting by adopting the agenda and concluded by receiving and filing several routine monthly reports and adjourning at 4:59 p.m.
Commissioner Bill LaHaie moved to adopt the agenda and Commissioner Dan Ludlow supported the motion; it carried. Juvenile Officer Janelle Mott presented the Child Care Fund report for November; Commissioner LaHaie moved and Commissioner Ludlow supported a motion to receive and file the report, which carried.
Chair Lucille Bray presented the Ambulance Fund monthly reports, the Medical Examiner’s monthly reports and the Veterans’ Affairs monthly report. Each was received and filed on motions moved by Commissioner LaHaie and supported by Commissioner Ludlow. The meeting adjourned on a motion moved by Commissioner LaHaie and supported by Commissioner Ludlow; adjournment occurred at 4:59 p.m.
During the meeting Commissioner John Kozlowski noted a suggestion to appoint a commissioner to the Michigan Indigent Defense Council board and said he would follow up with Bill Pfeifer for more information. No votes were recorded to appoint a commissioner at the Dec. 15 meeting.
