On Oct. 16, 2025, at a meeting of the Alpena County Local Emergency Planning Committee in the Howard Male Conference Room, Lisa Kruse, Environmental Quality Analyst and Incident Management Specialist with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), presented an overview of the capabilities and support EGLE and EPA can provide for exercise planning, training and incident response.
Kruse described available state and federal technical support for emergency exercises and response operations and provided a PowerPoint to committee members; the presentation slides were attached to the meeting minutes and distributed by email with her approval. The committee recorded the presentation as an information item and did not take formal action on it during the meeting.
The presentation is intended to inform local planning and preparedness activities and to clarify avenues for requesting EGLE/EPA support for tabletop exercises, training events and on-scene technical assistance. No specific requests for state or federal deployments were recorded in the minutes at this meeting. The committee received the materials for follow-up and reference.
