Commission backs completing Boyne City–Charlevoix trail, urges broader trail funding language

Jess said he would like to explore language changes in the County Parks millage renewal next year to allow millage funds to be used to expand trails to other communities, not only to finish the Boyne City–Charlevoix route.
Commissioners discussed the economic benefits of trails and the need to involve the Charlevoix Downtown Development Authority in planning. No formal county funding decision occurred at the meeting; commissioners instead expressed support and discussed next steps for cross‑jurisdictional coordination.
