Each motion passed by voice vote with all members in favor. Commissioners also approved the revised tentative agenda at the start of the meeting.
The commission reviewed and adopted a resolution establishing the 2026 meeting schedule: regular meetings will be held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Shirley Roloff Center unless posted otherwise; January 2026, July 2026 and January 2027 will be held on the second Thursday; meetings may be held elsewhere countywide and must be posted in compliance with the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
Planning Director Kiersten Stark announced a Michigan Association of Planning webinar on Feb. 12, 2026 (12:00-2:00 p.m.) on data centers and said staff would confirm whether it will be recorded. Commissioners offered brief local reports: housing deed restrictions for a Sheridan Street project, retail changes in East Jordan, brewery renovation at a former service station, and regional updates on Great Lakes water levels and the Line 5/Enbridge tunnel proposal.
