BC–CHX trail update: 60 attended opening; private fundraising planned as committee kicks off recreation-plan review

Kiersten Stark updated the committee on progress for the BC–CHX trail, saying about 60 people attended a trail-opening ceremony held in November. Stark reported that a private group plans to raise funds to support surveys for sections 4 and 5 of the trail.
The committee also introduced Jenn Cram to discuss the next steps for the parks-and-recreation-plan review and kickoff. Committee members were asked to submit thoughts to Kiersten by Feb. 13 in preparation for the Feb. 23 meeting, whose stated main objective is to work on recreation-plan updates.
The committee set its 2026 meeting schedule, noting meetings will begin at 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise stated: Feb. 23 at BC City Hall, April 20 at Whiting Hall, July 20 at Whiting Hall, Oct. 19 at Whiting Hall and Jan. 25, 2027 at Boyne City Hall.
