The Facilities, Capital & Strategic Planning Committee unanimously approved several action items related to fairgrounds property and county-owned sheds during its June 18 meeting.
Commissioner Todd Britton moved and Commissioner Lucille Bray supported a motion to clean out scrap metal at the fairgrounds; the motion carried. The committee recommended the Maintenance Superintendent proceed with cleaning out and disposing of the fairgrounds scrap metal (Action Item #1).
The committee also discussed two county-owned sheds used during the COVID response: one at the fairgrounds and one at District Health Department #4. Members resolved to move forward with relocating the fairgrounds shed to the Sheriff's Office, to solicit an electrical estimate for the relocation, and to contact District Health Department #4 about removing their stored items. Commissioner Britton moved and Commissioner Bray supported the motion; the committee recorded the recommendation as Action Item #2.
