Barry County Board of Commissioners Chair David Jackson presided over a May 27, 2025 session in which the board approved routine agenda and consent items and authorized payment of $148,447.51 in claims.
The board unanimously approved the consent agenda, which included: the May 13, 2025 meeting minutes; a professional services agreement with the Barry Conservation District to provide Recycling Coordinator services for 36 months (effective June 1, 2025–May 31, 2028); and a contract with 46 Entertainment to provide county services (911, sheriff and emergency management) for the June 13–14 "Rock the Country" event at the Barry County Expo Center. Commissioner Catherine Getty moved to approve the consent items; Commissioner David Hatfield seconded. The motion carried on a roll call vote with Callton, Campbell, Getty, Hatfield, Jackson and Teunessen voting aye; Bassett and Smelker were absent.
Separately, the board approved claims totaling $148,447.51. Commissioner Mike Callton moved to approve the claims; Commissioner Bruce Campbell seconded. The roll call vote was unanimous with the same attendance noted above.
No further action on these items was recorded at the meeting. The approved contracts and claims will be administered by county staff as provided in the agreements and claims list.
