County auditors on Nov. 18 presented the annual audit for the year ending Dec. 31, 2024 and reported they filed the Department of Community and Economic Development report and published notice in the Fulton County News; the full audit report is available on the county website.
Auditors Penny Kipp, Holly Falkosky and Rebecca Kendall reviewed accounts across county offices for accuracy in accounting practices. Mike Lamb of Wessel & Co. and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed met with department heads and commissioners for a final budget review in preparation to advertise the budget to the public. Commissioners gave verbal approval for the final draft of the 2026 budget, with the intent to bring it back for adoption as the tentative budget at next week's meeting.
No substantive findings or exceptions were recorded in the meeting minutes as preventing the county from moving forward with the budget advertisement. The auditors noted standard filing steps; commissioners instructed staff to proceed with the public notice and posting of materials on the county website.
