Grant County Planning & Zoning approves several building and utility permits, sets next meeting

Grant County Planning & Zoning voted unanimously on Oct. 10 to approve multiple building and utility permits, extend a shed permit and schedule its next regular meeting.
The board approved a permit to move a 66-by-14-foot manufactured home onto Wollman Ranch, filed for Daniel and Esther (Permit #CO-10102024-A). AlRoy Hochhalter moved the measure and Matt Hager seconded; the vote was recorded as "All in favor. Motion carried." The board also approved a separate Wollman Ranch permit, filed for Eli, to add a 16-by-10-foot deck and a 4-foot ramp to an existing manufactured home (Permit #CO-10102024-B); that motion was moved by Brendan Becher and seconded by Barb Kraft and carried unanimously.
The board granted an extension on a building permit for Richard Erdman for a garden shed in the Rock & Hills Subdivision (Block 2, Lot 6) under Permit #EXTENSION-RH-04112024-B after a motion by Vern Straub, seconded by Brendan Becher; the motion carried.
Members also approved a utility permit for Mor-Gran-Sou Electric to bore a 7.2 kV underground power cable under 85th St. SW (Permit #UTL3/10-13189-85SW-A). Robert Larson moved the utility-permit motion, Matt Hager seconded and the board approved the permit. Tax Director Jackie Steinmetz was instructed to present the approved utility permit to the county commissioners at their next meeting.
At the start of the session the board recorded members present: Robert Ternes (chairman), Brendan Becher, Vern Straub, Matt Hager, Barb Kraft, AlRoy Hochhalter and Robert Larson; Deputy Tax Director Bernae Hertz was noted absent. The board noted that an NPC conditional use permit remains pending and may appear on the December agenda after a required Leipzig Township meeting.
The board set its next regular meeting for Nov. 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time. Brendan Becher moved to adjourn; Vern Straub seconded and the meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
