Grant County Planning & Zoning approves seven building permits, forwards broadband utility permit

The Grant County Planning & Zoning Board approved seven building permits during its regular meeting on Aug. 8, 2024, and approved forwarding a utility permit for fiber-optic work to the County Commissioners.
The board approved permits for a moved manufactured home and deck for Brayden Bertch at 7035 54th Ave SW (permit #CO-08082024-A); a roof over a deck for Brian Steckler/Randy Binstock in Red Rock Subdivision (permit #RR-08082024-B); a patio roof for Mike Storley (permit #RR-08082024-C); a cabin with attached garage for Will Diede and Patricia Duppong with a one-year completion requirement (permit #CO-08082024-D); an 8-by-10-foot shed for Terry Steffes in the Schatz Subdivision (permit #Sz-08082024-E); a 20-by-14-foot steel addition for Alan Maier with a projected completion date of April 1, 2025 (permit #CO-08082024-F); and a moved 14-by-70-foot manufactured home for Wollman Ranch (permit #CO-08082024-G). Motions to approve each permit were made and seconded by board members and carried by voice vote (“all in favor”).
The board also approved a utility permit for WRT to perform multiple borings to install fiber optic cable in underserved areas (permit reference UTL1-36/131-134/87-89-B) and forwarded that permit to the County Commissioners for final approval; the transcript notes the commissioners approved that utility permit on Aug. 21, 2024. The utility permit was described as the second phase of WRT’s project to extend fiber service into underserved areas.
Motions were recorded as moved and seconded by board members (examples: motion to approve Brayden Bertch’s permit was moved by Matt Hager and seconded by Barb Kraft). The meeting packet or minutes list addresses, parcel identifiers, and explicit permit numbers for each approval.
The board set its next regular meeting for Sept. 12, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. MT and adjourned by unanimous voice vote.
