Council adopts Ordinance 921 to increase two deputy prosecutors’ 2019 pay by $1,000 each

The Steuben County Council adopted Ordinance No. 921 on March 12, 2019 to amend the 2019 Salary Ordinance and increase pay for two deputy prosecuting attorneys in the Pre-Trial Diversion fund by $1,000 each.
Prosecutor Jeremy Musser asked the council to approve the increases, explaining that the two deputies are not included in the county wage matrix and therefore do not receive automatic longevity-step increases. Linda Hansen said she supported keeping qualified employees; Hansen moved to approve the additional pay and Ken Shelton seconded. The motion carried 7-0.
The ordinance text recorded in the minutes lists the positions and amended amounts: Deputy Prosecutor D. Brown (2511-000-1000.01) increased by $1,000 to a listed amount of $13,100; Deputy Prosecutor R. Frey (2511-000-1000.06) increased by $1,000 to a listed amount of $19,968.50. The ordinance was signed by the council president and members and attested by Auditor Kim Meyers.
