At the Feb. 12 special session, Kim Anderson, county assessor, requested an additional appropriation of $3,211.78 in the Reassessment Fund to cover PERF benefits tied to an employee moved from the Assessor’s general fund. Council approved the appropriation on motion by Wil Howard, seconded by Ruth Beer, with five ayes recorded in the minutes.
Anderson also asked the council to reappoint Marvin Holman as the Republican member of the Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals (PTABOA) and to waive the statutory requirement that one PTABOA member be Certified Level 2 or 3 (a waiver allowed under IC 6‑1.1‑28‑1). Wil Howard moved to reappoint Holman and waive the certification requirement; Jim Getz seconded and the appointment passed with five ayes.
The minutes record Anderson will serve as secretary to the PTABOA as a non‑voting member and that the council approved both the appropriation and the reappointment.
