Morton County OKs $356,250 loader purchase, reports $1.48 million in recent expenditures

The Morton County Commission approved the low bid from Butler Machinery to purchase a Caterpillar 950 front end loader for $356,250, with delivery expected in 2025.
Commissioner Morrell moved to accept the low bid and Chair Nathan Boehm seconded; the motion carried with all commissioners voting aye. The purchase was recorded as the low, responsive bid and will proceed according to county procurement procedures.
During the meeting the commission also recognized Commissioner Leingang for 12 years of service to Morton County. Auditor Dawn R Rhone reported total county funds expended from Oct. 23, 2024, through Nov. 14, 2024 equaled $1,480,697.76 and noted a detailed list of checks is available for public inspection during regular business hours at the Morton County Auditor's Office.
The meeting adjourned at 6:14 p.m.; the minutes were signed by Chair Nathan Boehm and Auditor Dawn R Rhone.
