Rhone to notify the North Dakota State Tax Commissioner to begin collections of a $.01 county sales tax approved by a majority of electors in the Nov. 5, 2024 general election. Commissioner Morrell made the motion and Commissioner Buckley seconded; the motion carried with all voting aye.
The panel also approved the payout of Back the Blue Grant funds totaling $55,005.92 to be used for law-enforcement retention bonuses. Commissioner Morrell moved the payout and Commissioner Tokach seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Other unanimous actions included adoption of the Arrive 2050, the 2025–2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, with authorization for the chair to sign the accompanying resolution; approval to file a Court Facilities Improvement Grant application; and renewal of 2025 liquor licenses for Rusty’s Saloon & Grill LLC, The Watering Hole, The Post, Venue 25 and Huff Hills Ski Area.
