Sumter County authorizes lease-purchase with Motorola for emergency radio equipment

Sumter County Council on Dec. 10 adopted R-24-07, a resolution certifying the countys determination of need for radio equipment and authorizing the lease-purchase agreement (Lease No. 25601) with Motorola Solutions, Inc.
County Attorney Johnathan Bryan presented the resolution, which states the county has determined a true and very real need exists for acquisition of the described equipment for emergency first responders and that the lease, substantially in the form presented, is in the best interest of the county. The resolution authorizes designated county official(s) named in the lease to execute and deliver the lease and any related documents; the record names Gary M. Mixon, Sumter County Administrator, as the authorized signatory.
Vice Chairman James R. Byrd, Jr. moved the resolution, Councilman Artie Baker seconded, and council unanimously adopted it. The action authorizes county staff to finalize the lease and proceed with acquisition consistent with the terms of the adopted resolution.
Action recorded: R-24-07 adopted; county authorized to enter Lease No. 25601 with Motorola Solutions, Inc., and County Administrator Gary M. Mixon authorized to execute documents on the countys behalf.
