Ware County proposes adding Dusty Lane and Katie Lane to 2023 CDBG Phase 2

County staff proposed adding Phase 2 to Ware County’s 2023 CDBG project to include Dusty Lane (TA #2) and Katie Lane (TA #3), citing an under-spend of $267,144.12 in the original project that DCA approved for additional work.
County Manager James Shubert told the commission the county would be required to contribute $26,196.88 and that once Phase 2 is bid it could fall within the available budget. Staff noted three power poles sit in the county right-of-way and the power company should move them; the contractor's estimate included $5,000 per pole but the county manager expects the actual cost to be closer to half that estimate. The board added the Phase 2 addition to the regular meeting agenda for formal approval and instructed staff to contact the power company regarding pole relocation.
