IT Director Al Stephenson said the county solicited Avigilon-compatible camera quotes for the Public Works building and recommended the lowest quote from Coopercraft at $36,802.38. County Manager Jim Carter said the Recreation Department obtained three quotes to replace a mower with a blown engine and that Powerhouse Outdoor EQT provided the lowest price of $11,578; funding would come from insurance proceeds. Public Works Director Jason Jordan said a 2019 Exmark Laser Z mower had a blown engine and staff recommended it be declared surplus and sold on GovDeals; Jordan also recommended surplusing and demolishing the Brookfield Fire Department building, which sustained significant roof damage during Hurricane Helene, salvaging material where possible.
County Attorney Anthony Rowell said staff have been working on a limited warranty deed to exchange property on 4th Street owned by the Downtown Development Authority for county property where the MidStep building formerly sat; the deed needs corrections but will be ready for Nov. 12. County Clerk Miriam Jordan noted an alcohol beverage application from Pina Shah (Shree Ji TyTy 1210 LLC) that was previously denied due to residency concerns; the applicant submitted new proof of residency and staff recommended placing the application on the Nov. 12 agenda for consideration.
