Tax Commissioner Chad Alexander reported to the Tift County Board on Dec. 9 that the county's rollback rate is 8.427 mils and that property tax bills are expected to be mailed on Jan. 20, 2025.
Alexander said a five-year tax history will be published in the newspaper next week and reminded the board that the meeting to set the millage rate will be the board's Regular Session on Jan. 13, 2025 at 6 p.m.
Those are administrative timelines and notices; no millage-setting vote occurred at the Dec. 9 meeting. Any change to the millage rate will be subject to the public meeting process and any statutory notice requirements prior to adoption.
