At its Sept. 3 meeting the Polk County Board of Commissioners approved four separate rezoning requests submitted by local property owners.
The board approved Z24-10, a request by Sal Baran to rezone land at 2649 Cartersville Highway from A-1 to C-1, on the condition that the existing tree-line buffer to the adjacent property be retained as agreed by the property owners. The applicant was present at the work session prior to the vote.
Commissioners also approved Z24-11, filed by Rachel Ramey to rezone 381 Booger Hollow Road from R-1 to RA-8; Z24-12, filed by Marcello Flores to rezone 4409 Buchanan Highway from CN to R-1; and Z24-13, filed by Mary Meeks and represented by GCT Enterprises, LLC, to rezone 111 Knight Drive from A-1 to CN. Planning Commission had recommended approval for these items, and each motion carried unanimously.
All four items were presented during the regular meeting after applicants attended the work session to answer commissioner questions. The board did not attach additional stipulations to Z24-11, Z24-12 or Z24-13 beyond standard planning conditions noted by staff.
The approvals will amend county zoning designations for the affected parcels; no appeals or further procedural steps were recorded in the meeting minutes.
