Engineering report: contractors recommended to repair county roads

Commissioner J.C. Warren said he met with the Georgia Department of Transportation to discuss applying for grants and recommended looking for grant writers. Bobby Smith, Director of Public Works, accompanied by Wesley Parker of Parker Engineering, reported on the condition of Lawton, Plantation and Hiltonia Creek Roads; Parker "recommends a contractor do the work that's needed to fix these roads properly," according to the meeting record.
The board did not approve a specific repair contract during the June 13 meeting; the consultant and staff recommended procuring a contractor to perform the repairs.
