Fletcher warned that "people are getting relaxed with the coronavirus" and urged businesses, churches and residents to continue social distancing, wear masks and wash hands.
Fletcher also announced a planned peaceful demonstration for Saturday, June 6 at 9:00 a.m., starting at Blue & Gray Park and ending at the courthouse. He said law enforcement would be in attendance and he did not anticipate issues. No public opposition or formal requests for county action were recorded in the meeting minutes regarding the demonstration.
