Ben Hill County commissioners approve contract amendment, roundabout lighting IGA, $45,000 RLF loan, bonuses and surplus resolution

Commissioners approved an amended FY21 RMS Operator Agreement after a motion by Commissioner John Mooney and a second from Vice-Chair Hope Harmon; the motion carried with Mooney, Harmon, Chairman Steve Taylor and Commissioner Daniel Cowan voting in favor.
The commission approved an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Fitzgerald for roundabout lighting on a motion by Mooney, seconded by Harmon, and approved 4-0.
Vice-Chair Hope Harmon moved and Commissioner Daniel Cowan seconded a resolution delegating the Tax Commissioner authority to waive penalties for 2021; the commission adopted the resolution unanimously.
The commission ratified a Revolving Loan Fund loan to Marian Harris Newell/Newell Collision Repair, LLC in the amount of $45,000 at 3.75% interest for a six-year term. Collateral listed in the motion included two paint booths, one frame machine with attachments, one welder and one air compressor. The ratification motion was made by Vice-Chair Harmon, seconded by Commissioner Daniel Cowan, and approved 4-0.
The commission also approved $50 Christmas bonuses for full-time employees and $25 for part-time employees (motion by Vice-Chair Harmon; second by Commissioner Cowan), and adopted a Surplus Property Resolution authorizing disposal of declared surplus county property (motion by Commissioner John Mooney; second by Commissioner Daniel Cowan). All votes recorded in the meeting passed unanimously among the four voting commissioners present.
