County approves quitclaim deed for 50-foot private drive adjacent to Pinecrest Drive

The Coffee County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on Sept. 5 to approve a quitclaim deed conveying a 50-foot private-drive easement adjacent to Pinecrest Drive to the Douglas-Coffee County Economic Development Authority.
County Administrator Wesley Vickers told the board that the parcel had been planned originally for a road, but that road was never built and the county does not have a continuing interest in the property. The proposal approved at the meeting directs that the parcel be deeded to the EDA, which will then transfer the property to the adjacent property owners.
Commissioner Johnny Wayne Jowers moved to approve the quitclaim deed; Vice-Chairman Jimmy Kitchens seconded. All five commissioners voted in favor.
The minutes do not record the parcel’s tax ID, a map/parcel reference, or any purchase price; the transaction was framed as a conveyance to correct ownership for private property use.
