Hardin County commissioners approve routine minutes, bills, budget moves and several procurement steps

The court also approved FY24 budget amendments/transfers as presented by the auditor (motion by Commissioner Kirkendall; second by Commissioner Young).
Commissioner L.W. “Nubbin” Cooper Jr. moved and Commissioner Ernie Koch seconded adoption of Resolution 9‑25 proclaiming March 2025 as American Red Cross Month; the court approved the resolution unanimously.
Procurement and contracting actions approved included authorization for the Purchasing Agent to sell a surplus utility trailer (no VIN/SN); authorization to solicit bids for the CDBG‑DR Harvey Infrastructure Saratoga Road Improvement construction project; and authorization to solicit proposals for remaining GLO CDBG‑DR Harvey Infrastructure grant administration services, with the court appointing an evaluation committee of Commissioner Amanda Young, Aaron Tupper and Clay Woodward to review proposals.
The court approved a contract with LZ Services, LLC for Cooks Lake Road drainage crossing repairs and approved bid awards for materials and emulsions for all Road & Bridge departments. On a recommendation from the evaluation committee the court voted to reject a single proposal for emergency/disaster debris monitoring and directed staff to re‑solicit proposals.
The court also set a special meeting and public hearing for March 25, 2025, at 9:45 a.m. to consider a variance request from Calvin Gauthier of S & C Builders, LLC affecting side setbacks in the Woodcrest Subdivision; the court adjourned after allowing non‑agenda reports and announcements.
