Fayette County to split $50,000 right-of-way bill for McDonough Road bridge with Clayton County

Fayetteville, Ga. — The Fayette County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 14 approved an intergovernmental agreement with Clayton County to split right-of-way costs associated with the McDonough Road bridge replacement under GDOT's Local Bridge Replacement Program.
Public Works Director Phil Mallon told the Board that GDOT billed Fayette County $50,000 as Fayette's contribution toward right-of-way acquisition. The Board approved a 50/50 cost split so Clayton County will reimburse Fayette County $25,000. The motion passed 4-0; Commissioner Charles D. Rousseau was absent.
Mallon characterized the arrangement as an update to the IGA reflecting Clayton County's agreement to share the billed cost. The item was presented as part of ongoing coordination with GDOT on LOCBR projects previously authorized.
