The Autauga County Commission voted unanimously on Jan. 20 to approve an updated professional services agreement with Neumo Group, LLC (formerly Avenu Insights and Analytics) covering March 1, 2026, through Feb. 28, 2029.
Commissioner Rusty Jacksland moved to approve the three-year contract; Commissioner Terry Tanner seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous vote. The commission then adopted Resolution 2026-10 to rescind the county's earlier action to terminate its agreement with Avenu and to revoke the county administrator's authorization to enter an agreement with the Alabama Department of Revenue.
The resolution directs the chairman and the county administrator to execute all documents necessary to enter into the professional services agreement with Neumo Group. No member opposed the action. The minutes do not specify contract value or operational changes to the county's tax collection process beyond reauthorizing the vendor relationship.
The decision reverses a prior October 7, 2025 action that had moved toward termination of the Avenu contract and contemplated transferring tax collection services to the state department. The commission's action on Jan. 20 restores a vendor-based collection agreement with the firm now operating as Neumo Group.
Next steps recorded in the minutes require the chairman and the county administrator to sign the contract documents; the minutes do not list a timeline for implementation or details of any transition plan to or from the Alabama Department of Revenue.
