Autauga County Commission accepts resignations, approves multiple jail hires and change order for Phase II project

The Autauga County Commission accepted the resignation of Lieutenant Timothy Jason Hill (effective Oct. 10, 2025) and the resignation of part-time process server Gregory Thompson (effective Oct. 31, 2025) and authorized the hiring of replacements.
Commissioners also approved multiple full-time correction officer hires to fill vacancies: Jacob Small (effective 10/15/2025), Richard Nobles (effective 10/15/2025), Michael Tuno (effective 10/20/2025), DeMonica Ware (effective immediately), and Dominique Jackson (effective immediately). Each hire was approved by unanimous vote; the minutes list grade/step designations for each appointment.
Earlier in the meeting Commissioner John L. Thrailkill moved (seconded by Commissioner Terry Tanner) to approve change order #4 (ASI #2 & ASI #4) for Phase II of the county’s jail/courthouse project; the motion carried unanimously. The minutes record the approval but do not include change order dollar amounts or technical details; staff were authorized to proceed.
The commission also approved a one-year juvenile detention bedspace agreement with Lee County (Oct. 1, 2025–Sept. 30, 2026) to secure out-of-county bedspace as needed.
All personnel and project motions passed by unanimous vote. The commission adjourned at 5:24 p.m. and set its next regular meeting for Nov. 4, 2025.
