Rawlins County approves consent items, donations, equipment purchases and sets special meeting

The Rawlins County Board of Commissioners handled a slate of routine items and approvals at its Nov. 14 regular meeting.
Consent and finance actions carried on unanimous motions: approval of the meeting agenda; approval of minutes from Nov. 3 and Nov. 10; a $500 donation to the Kansas State Register of Deeds Association; and authorization for a $1,460 purchase of a new computer and docking station for the Appraiser from Reach IT, to be paid from the Appraiser’s Equipment Fund. Commissioner Lincoln Pochop moved for several of the approvals and Commissioner Mark Mosley seconded; all motions were recorded as "motion carried."
The board approved purchasing a Nex‑Tech security system for Good Samaritan and directed payment to come half from the Solko Trust and half from the Winslow Trust. The board also approved a prepaid warrant of $2,800 to pay for tree services at Good Samaritan. County Clerk and Election Officer Rachel Finley requested and received approval for $7,000 in election pay, which she said was needed because of multiple elections in 2024 and insufficient budgeted funds in 2024 to cover higher pay.
The commissioners set a special meeting for Nov. 20, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Atwood City Hall and announced county offices will be closed Nov. 27–28 for Thanksgiving. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Dec. 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Rawlins County Courtroom.
