Rawlins County approves LED lights, pays EMS extra hours and funds Good Samaritan repairs

The Rawlins County Board of Commissioners approved a series of maintenance and payroll expenditures during its Nov. 3 meeting.
Maintenance supervisor Stacey Mentlick reported a burned light in the Register of Deeds office and that contractor Dustin Diederich said LED lights were on sale and would take about an hour each to install. Commissioner Lincoln Pochop moved to buy 30 LED lights for $2,465.40 and to hire Diederich to begin installation in the Register of Deeds, with payment from the County Building Fund; Commissioner Mark Mosley seconded the motion and it carried.
EMS Director Megan Rippe presented October 2025 activity and requested payment for extra on-call hours worked since 2024 at $10 per hour, totaling $23,785.00. Commissioner Pochop moved to pay the amount on the December payroll; Commissioner Alan A. Solko seconded and the motion carried.
Jacque Portschy, representing Good Samaritan, discussed roof and camera quotes. County Attorney Chris Rohr said the county agreement does not require the county to provide a camera system. The board approved $2,800 for tree trimming and $1,500 for roof patch work from the Home for the Aged Maintenance Fund.
Minutes show the motions were approved, but individual vote tallies were not recorded.
