Commissioners OK $5,505 compactor repair, seek camera quotes after gate vandalism

Castens said someone cut the chain on the landfill gate to gain access and presented a Nex‑Tech quote of $5,750 for a full camera system; the commissioners asked staff to obtain another quote before proceeding. Castens also noted a household hazardous waste collection planned for Oct. 18, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon at the landfill and said the recycling baler delivery is scheduled for Nov. 7, 2025, with wiring work to be quoted by Dustin Diederich.
The board and Castens discussed grass maintenance at the landfill, an existing contract with Cahoj, and that Castens will call Miller & Associates about grass care details.
