Rawlins County sets meal per diem at $50 full day, $30 half day starting Sept. 1

The Rawlins County Board of Commissioners voted Aug. 15 to change county employee meal reimbursements to Kansas per diem rates.
Commissioner Alan A. Solko moved to set reimbursement at Full Day: $50 and Half Day: $30 with no receipts required unless a county credit card is used; Commissioner Lincoln Pochop seconded the motion and it carried. The policy will take effect Sept. 1, 2025.
Public Health Director Jennifer Hurst had requested the change during the department head portion of the meeting, saying the county should align its reimbursements with state per diem levels. The board also discussed creating a county vehicle-use form and directed staff to draft that form for future review.
The action was one of several administrative adjustments approved at the Aug. 15 meeting of the Rawlins County Board of Commissioners.
