Alex Larson of Lindburg, Vogel, Pierce, Faris Chartered attended to discuss the draft budget.
"The purpose of the special meeting is to go over the 2026 Proposed Budget for Rawlins County," Commissioner Alan Solko said, announcing the session's focus. Earlier in the meeting Commissioner Lincoln Pochop moved to approve the agenda; Commissioner Mark Mosley seconded and the board approved the motion ("Motion carried").
Larson and the commissioners reviewed the proposed 2026 budget and discussed updated end-of-year adjustments for 2024. The board agreed on the Sept. 2 date and time for the budget hearing to allow for public review and comment prior to final adoption. No vote tallies were recorded in the transcript for the scheduling decision; it was described as an agreement by the commissioners.
The meeting concluded with routine motions, including adjournment; the session ended at 10:52 a.m. The budget hearing on Sept. 2 will be the next formal step in the county's 2026 budget process.
