Commissioner Lincoln Pochop moved to approve and sign minutes from May 1, 2025; the motion was seconded and carried. The board approved an intangible tax addition from the County Clerk's Office and approved CVR Grant Drawdown No. 5 for payment to Northwest Kansas Planning and Development Commission totaling $21,250.08. The board minutes itemized a $3,541.00 administrative fee for the commission and $17,717.08 for Finley Construction and Atwood Lumber items (concrete vibrators and printers).
Road and Bridge supervisor Mark Loop told the commissioners crews are elevating 465 South of Midway and that rock trucks are staging in Herndon overnight. Herndon City Clerk Kelsey Wahrman asked whether the county would trade rock for use of Herndon water; the commissioners agreed to the trade and asked that trucks be parked and loads dropped off in Herndon as discussed.
Atwood Library representatives Grace Kastens and Lynette Kanak presented the library's 2026 budget request and the 2024 annual report; Kastens also noted new board members Laura Boston and Meredith Willis. The board announced Rawlins County offices will be closed May 26, 2025, for Memorial Day and set its next regular meeting for June 2, 2025. Commissioner Solko moved to adjourn at 10:11 a.m.; the motion carried.
