Rawlins County approves 3% pay bump for commissioners and routine purchases

At its Jan. 31 meeting the Rawlins County Board of Commissioners approved a 3% pay increase for commissioners and signed off on several routine purchases and grant paperwork.
County Clerk Rachel Finley raised that commissioners had not yet given themselves raises; after discussion Commissioner Mark Mosley moved to approve a 3% cost-of-living increase for 2025, Commissioner Lincoln Pochop seconded, and the motion carried.
The board approved a $500 quote from contractor Matt Hanzlick to remove two tree stumps and associated roots near the pickleball court, to be paid from the General Fund. Commissioners also accepted a $990 quote from Final Finish Auto Body and Repair for running boards to be installed on a county pickup. The board approved publication of January vouchers, minutes from Jan. 13, 2025, abatements from the appraiser, a DSNWK agreement for services, and the KDHE Aid to Local Grant application signature page for public health.
Commissioners also approved a sole-source request tied to a CVR grant for Finley Construction & Atwood Lumber and authorized procurement of iPads/accessories from Amazon for $977.92 plus tax.
